I work mostly in oils on canvas and pencil drawing on paper however my latest diversion has been to make a mosaic out of bottle tops. I draw my inspiration from dreams and memories from places I've been. My artworks often portray dilapidated buildings as fragments of memories, so that one could imagine the dreamer traversing a surreal underworld. The bottle tops too can be linked to this theme as objects hold memories and when viewed or held can bring back those memories by activating the synapses in the brain, links that convey memories in the mind.
Ngoc Tran :
Art is very important part of my inspiration; it brings certain emotions and certain feelings to the surface. It’s so important to be in touch with the land and the sea, the environment, family, and friends: that's what keeps me sane.
