Australian Landscapes On 35mm Film by Damian Seagar
Opening night Friday the 26th of August : 6.30pm - 9pm
"I have been shooting exclusively on film for almost 20 years, often calling myself a ‘stubborn purist’ as i have never used a digital camera.
I love the slow and careful process and discipline of using film: taking only one photograph of something, and learning from my mistakes, often not discovered 'til weeks later when the film is processed.
All of these images are shot on 35mm film, and hand-printed using the traditional photo-chemical process. Photographing, processing, and developing using this method is completely analogue and hand-made, and as such, every print is entirely unique. No manipulation or enhancement is made to the images
at any stage.
Many film stocks that i love are not made any more, but much like vinyl, analogue photography is having a small resurgence, so it will be here to stay for a while yet.
I enjoy travelling on my own in no particular direction, and seeing where the road and my eye takes me.
These images are the product of many a road-trip and unplanned adventure.
I hope you enjoy this little collection of quiet and still places from around Australia."
