Bijanka Bacic Solo Exhibition
Opening night 13th of September
6 pm - 9 pm
Bijanka Bacic is a young emerging artist based in Sydney, Australia who's a recent graduate from National Art School. Her work draws upon the disciplines of drawing and painting where her practice emphasises on contributing and generating a unique visual language of the human figure. Bijanka combines the apparent form of the body with an anti-teleological philosophy, through which she aims to overcome its challenges to create a rich dialogue of pure consciousness.
This concept is used to explore the reconstruction and re-creation of the figure stepped into an interdisciplinary collaboration across all of the arts (music, dance, theatre and performance art) and the avant-garde aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from various fields allows Bijanka to rediscover and provide freedom from ones imagination.
Her art process interacts with the materiality of line, colour and texture to emulate the notion of time, space and energy that is associated within these fields. While adding an aesthetic affect that is a product of chance methodology.
Therefore, Bijanka concerns herself with generating a relationship of the metaphysic of flesh, the metaphysic of life and an understanding that we must rediscover reality. Where this relationship doesn’t bring the proximity of life and art closer together but suggests a different set of ends.
