Through the use of wood, metal, paint, illustration and found organic material May Zuhair Jamil (Maya) has created a collection of sculptural work that speaks of the concentric nature of time and the cycles that develop within each life lived.
Transcendental in nature these pieces evoke tribal totems bearing influence from both indigenous art practices and Eastern mysticism.
Coded ancient symbolism is heavily embedded within Maya's current introspection of life, loss, happiness and the inevitable yearning to escape to the other and have a union with something higher.
