Yulia Pustoshkina Solo Exhibition
Opening night - Thursday the 12th of May
5pm - 8pm
“My Animals and I. What am I without them? I notice them all around. I like to observe whatever they do. I imagine them to talk; their behaviours and reactions are human like; they have a purpose in everything they do. This is how the animals make their way onto my canvases and become the characters of my paintings. Some are curious; others are silly, but most often endearing and kind. A touch of humour is an absolute must - for this is how I dream the ideal World.
Most themes in my paintings are direct reflections of my own life, my interests, my travels, my thoughts and worries. I show it all through my characters. You find my animals are playing tarot cards, they travel to some distant lands, they love, they fly and living free. They live through my own desires and longings. My characters, my animals, they simply are all me, my own curious and laughing self..”
