We are a group of three artists of different backgrounds and ages that went to art school together and have remained friends and colleagues since then. We share a love of talking about and making art and we are excited to be exhibiting together.
Ann Babinard
I live surrounded by the terrain of the Blue Mountains. It can be beautiful, reassuring, calming, mysterious and challenging, even dangerous in extremes of weather. The landscapes that I’ve created in different media are of special places and moments of reflection. During the past two years I’ve done a lot more walking in the bush and have noticed that what I see there can reveal my mood as much as the weather and seasons. Over time my landscapes have changed as I have changed.
Natasha Junmanee
Natasha Junmanee is a still life painter based in Parramatta. Her work celebrates the beauty in everyday and ordinary objects. For this exhibition, Natasha will present her new playful and unconventional still life painting by introducing birds, especially Australian ones, into her usual traditional composition. Her idea is to show that still life painting does not have to be boring and motionless, but can be injected with fun and lively elements, making it more exciting and enjoyable to look at.
Suzie Salisbury
Dreams and memories have been a constant source of inspiration for my art. Symbolic of change, uncertainty, love and hope my paintings draw from early memories to more recent times. Like dreams they are seemingly random: flowers, a favourite childhood toy, an owl and barren landscapes, however they are all connected. They each express an emotional state of being and are inspired by places I have called home. While often experimenting using different materials, I predominantly paint with oil on canvas.
