Aleks Solo Exhibition

"I have played around with creating art all throughout my life, as a way to express and relax, however In my late 20s and early 30s, I felt ‘drawn’ (no pun intended) to paint more regularly and have been doing so since.

The foundational themes of this body of work centres around the balance between natural landscapes/settings and man made constructs, taken from an abstract perspective, with a focus on bright, joyful colour schemes. My artwork is also very much inspired by the sea, ocean and nautical themes and these often permeate my work. I find water and nature to be harmonious and healing and so it often features in my creations.

I primarily paint with acrylics on canvas and wooden board, however oftentimes I will combine other media to accentuate texture and add an extra layer of differences to the surface of the works."
