We cordially invite you to About Artificial Paradises, a collaborative exhibition combining the works of Australian artist Isabel R. presenting “Landescape” & Mexican artist Misael M. with “The man is like an onion”.
"Man is an onion, the noblest there is in nature, but a peeling onion-like any other.
A skin? You don’t know how right you are. But, if you remove it, you will find another, and another…down to the void at the centre (that is not all that large, either). Let us weep, let’s weep, My crocodile brothers."
-Julien Torma, Euphorisms.
Landescape plays with perspective both physically and in an imaginary sense. Pushing viewers to channel the curiosity of a child who wants to see the inside of a mouse hole. Referencing the polysemic aspect of landscape representation and highlighting the power of isolated observation. Interested in unique affiliations that can be drawn from objects and images, and the consequentially different interpretations of the same composition.
