Global WARning is a painting exhibition of new idiosyncratic text-based works by Sydney visual artists Dirk Kruithof and Ganbold Lundaa (a.k.a Gawaa).
Both artists studied at St. George TAFE and have a shared obsession with text, wordplay, recycling, consumerism, urban life, and humour.
Ganbold ingeniously mixes his traditional Mongolian heritage and upbringing with western style and attitude to create a colourful cocophany of playful and striking East-meets-West themes and imagery.
Dirks Post-Grunge-Signwriting-Expressionism is a crypto-critical mess of urban confusion with words and symbols, bar-codes and consumer ephemera competing for meaning and poetic re-invention and re-interpretation.
There will be live performances on the night courtesy of beatboxer L c Beats, and Mongolian fiddler/throat singer Bukhu. Drinks from 6pm, all works are for sale and very reasonably priced.
All welcome.
Opening night Thursday the 13th of March 6 - 9pm
