Retold to Finn Davis, Charlie O’Grady, and Lucinda Vitek in interviews with each of their maternal grandmothers, the stories of Rosie, Ruth, and Susan explore the passage of time, the memory of childhood, and past regrets.

Combining the techniques of verbatim and documentary theatre, Rosie, Ruth, and Susan brings old and young together as grandchildren play grandmothers and embody the telling of stories from before they were born.

This transformational process reaches into the past to look for what lessons we can all learn from the vividly lived experiences of older family members.

This is a powerful play about the loss of collective memory and the urgency of its preservation.
