Pub Crawl
Elisa Pettenon Solo Exhibition
Opening night - Friday the 25th of September 7 - 9pm
In an age where communication and technology go hand in hand, conversing with others has entered a realm of screens and notifications. Interactions have become concise and instantaneous as we now live in a world where social networks and online communities dominate the way we exchange.
Pub Crawl returns to the origin of mateship and conversation. Pubs have long been a vital component of Australia’s history, cultural identity and social fabric. They house entertainment, food and drink. Having a “beer” at the pub forms an act of inclusion and belonging.
This collection is a series of paintings that addresses the personal connection one makes with their local pub, the sense of nostalgia, memories and the many façades that house the true heart of bonding.
