DRAWN TOGETHER is a collection of works that at first glance may seem like an accumulation of disparate images - but on closer inspection, become intimate reflections of the cathartic nature of art for exploring identity.

Both Birkner and Smith have built their styles under the influence of anime and street art encapsulating and re-working the ability of those sub-cultures to imprint surreal and fantastical images into the minds of the public.

Each artwork, despite being shrouded in metaphor and symbolism, show very real and felt experiences.The wild mash up of whimsical illustrations become a decorative wash over darker themes that seep through to the viewer.
